AWESOME BLOG FANPAGE

An interesting dual screen LCD and E-ink device was shown at the IFA earlier this year. At the time, it felt like a concept rather than a proper phone but Yota Devices has confirmed that it is an actual device and it is on schedule for a release in Q3 2013. The device has a fully working prototype and will feature an e-ink display at the back of the screen in addition to the LCD display.

The phone packs pretty impressive specs and features a 4.3 inch screen with a resolution of 720X1280 pixels. The e-ink display at the back 200 dpi and is similar in size. The phone runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual core Snapdragon processor and 2GB of RAM.

On the storage front it will ship with at least 32GB of memory and will also have LTE in the connectivity department. In addition, it will have a 12 MP camera at the back and a 720p camera at the front. More impressively, it will be 9.9mm thick despite having two screens.

The e-ink display on the Yotaphone works in a similar manner and is fed information through in open API. The phone’s software can also display notifications, call and message alerts as well as a slideshow on the rear screen.
