A 29-year-old Indian-American woman has been arrested after she allegedly set her husband on fire and locked him in a bathroom while he suffered third-degree burns. Shriya Biman Patel is in custody on $1 million bond and booked into the Travis County Jail in Austin, on charges of first-degree felony aggravated assault and arson.
The victim, whose name was not released, remained in critical condition at Brooke Army Medical Centre in San Antonio.
The couple has been married for a year and Shriya had only been in the United States for seven days after coming from India. Neighbour Rathan Rajendren said he heard what sounded like an argument next door right before the incident.
He said the victim told police his wife was giving him a massage when she poured gasoline all over him and set him on fire.
However, the wife told police her husband doused himself in gasoline before lighting himself on fire.

Here's the Beijing show stealer, and with good reason. The Lamborghini Urus, a four-seater super SUV, was presented to the world as a concept today amidst much fanfare.
For a start, Lambo aims to make it the most powerful production SUV you can buy. Their target? 600 hp, although they are as yet unclear on what kind of engine they will use to reach that big number.
Before you say V10 or V12, consider this: they also want to make it the least polluting in terms of carbon dioxide emissions, without using a diesel engine. However they plan to employ advanced carbon fibre technologies to keep it as lightweight as possible. To that end, much of the Urus is made of carbon fibre, including the seats, winglets and rear diffuser.
It also has permanent all-wheel-drive and adaptive aerodynamics. The latter involves adjustable front and rear spoilers and rear deflector, to alter the amount of downforce according to driving conditions.
The first thing that strikes you upon seeing it in the flesh (apart from its menacing Aventador-derived angular design language) is its huge wheels, shod in low-profile Pirelli Scorpion Zero tyres. 305/35 ZR24, to be exact.
The wheels are made of matte-finish aluminium which we think suit the car nicely. In other measurements, the Urus is nearly 5 metres long and 2 metres wide, and at 1.66 metres tall it is about the same height as a Range Rover Evoque.
Other notable features include rear-facing cameras mounted where you'd expect to find wing mirrors, and quad hexagonal exhausts. It certainly hints at things to come from the Italian supercar manufacturer, who want to bring out a proper production SUV by 2015.
Designer Pierre Stephane first conceived of these sometimes transparent and sometimes slightly opaque bubble tents as a means of creating an exciting camping adventure that doesn't have a deleterious impact on the environment. At only 13 feet in diameter, they pack up really easily, and when they pack down, it is almost as though they had never been there in the first place.
Depending on the season and whether or not visitors opt for the jacuzzi experience, Attrap'Reves' bubble rooms start at 109 euros per night. More glamping than camping, the furnishings are comfortable, and delicious meals are available at a lodge-style restaurant.
Spring has sprung. What are you waiting for?
Translations with non-latin characters are strangely a pretty good way to test the strength of a brand. To adapt the logo, you need
to reinterprate it using the codes of the visual, such as lines, curves, font style and color. If your visuals are very easy to identify, it
makes the adaptation much easier.

Last year, the former university lecturer, An Yanshi, has started planting his experimental 'panda tea' in a tea garden with about 100 tons of panda poop as fertilizer. Now the panda poo tea is officially released and available for purchase. The official name 'Panda Ecological Tea' is marketed as healthy and organic, and it is very limited - only 21 packages are available on the market. Each package weights 50 gram and costs 20,000 yuan ($3,000 for 1.7 ounces). Moreover, its inventor filed an application to Guiness World Records for the world's most expensive green tea.
The 'Panda Ecological Tea' has brought together the two things that China is best known for, green tea and panda. Citing scientific research, the inventor chose to use the poo of pandas because of their high nutritional value. The main food for Chinese Panda is bamboo stick and the leaves contain anti-cancer ingredients, this indicates that "panda tea" would have an anti-cancer effectiveness. An Yanshi said he hopes his brand of tea would push more people in China to look at innovative ways to save the environment. Despite this, some tea lovers were not impressed by his plans to sell the tea at such a high price, perhaps it might be just a hype.
We are wondering, if you’re going to drink this panda tea while eating the pee-soaked eggs, will you become immortal ? Chinese
food always have some unbelievable ingredients for your health.
