GO FASTER!!
If you are a weekend track fan that enjoys exclusive sports cars and pockets deep enough to afford their hobby, you will be happy to hear that the BAC Mono Single Seat Racer will be arriving in the U. S. Sector 111 LLC has been the company who will be bringing the car to the U.S. Established in California , the firm is specialized in aftermarket parts and service for the Ariel Atom and the Lotus Elise & Exige models.

The BAC Mono (as in monoposto, Italian for single-seater) is a brutal single-seater race car designed to bring formula racing levels of handling and performance to the street. It is constructed from high-strength carbon fiber composite and is powered by a mid-mounted naturally aspirated 2.3-liter Cosworth engine pushing out 280-horsepower to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential transmission and a limited-slip differential.

While 280 hp might not sound much to power-infested minds, the Mono's power to weight ratio stands at 520 hp/tonne, a value superior to that of the Bugatti Veyron, as the car weighs a mere 1,190 lbs thanks to the carbon-fiber body and the minimalistic engineering approach. BAC says the Mono can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds and to 100 mph in 6.7 seconds, en route to a top speed of 170 mph.

The car's aerodynamics were optimized in partnership with the Stuttgart University and all of the mechanical components come from established motorsport companies. Add the 48/52 weight distribution - front to rear - and you have a raw racing car that you can use legally on the streets.

The Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) said it will build 50 to 100 cars a year, and only just just 12 units will be offered in U.S. at a starting price of $130,000 each.
